Your Work Stays Yours

ExpertCareerGuide.com is a home for career knowledge from many voices. Authors, experts, and contributors who publish here keep the rights to their works and manuscripts. We provide the platform, the audience, and the tools to reach readers. You keep ownership of what you create.

WHAT THIS MEANS IN PRACTICE

You own it. Your manuscript, article, course material, or any other original work remains your intellectual property, in full, from the day you publish it.

We get permission to share it, not to own it. Publishing with ExpertCareerGuide.com grants us a non-exclusive license to display, promote, and sell your work on the platform. We don’t take ownership, and we don’t restrict what you do with your own work elsewhere, unless a specific project’s agreement states otherwise.

You can publish elsewhere too. Unless your individual agreement says otherwise, you’re free to sell or publish your work through other platforms, your own website, or anywhere else you choose.

You’re credited. Your name stays on your work. We don’t publish under anonymous or platform-owned branding.

WHY WE DO IT THIS WAY

Career guidance only works if the people giving it are credible, and credible experts don’t hand over their life’s work to a platform that might later restrict, alter, or bury it. We’d rather build a platform contributors trust enough to publish their best work on, not just their leftovers.

WHO THIS APPLIES TO

  • Authors, publishing e-books, guides, and toolkits
  • Educators, publishing academic or research-based career content
  • Industry professionals and experts, publishing articles, reflections, or advisory content
  • Anyone contributing original work to ExpertCareerGuide.com, under any current or future contributor role

HOW THIS CONNECTS TO PAYMENT

Keeping your rights is separate from how you’re paid. Payment terms (royalties, revenue share, or session fees) are set out in your individual contributor agreement. Owning your work means the platform can’t change what you’re paid without your agreement, and it means you keep the work itself even if you and ExpertCareerGuide part ways.

FAQ

Q: If I leave the platform, what happens to my published work?
A: Your work can stay published, and you’ll continue to receive proceeds from each sale. While you’re an active contributor, you earn 70% of the sale price. If you leave the platform, your work can remain published and you’ll continue earning 50% of the sale price, since ExpertCareerGuide.com takes on full responsibility for promoting and maintaining it without your ongoing involvement.

Q: Can I publish the same book on Amazon, Draft2Digital, or elsewhere?
A: Yes. You’re free to publish your work anywhere else you choose. ExpertCareerGuide.com does not require exclusivity.

Q: Does ExpertCareerGuide.com ever edit my work without my approval?
A: No. All annotations, edits, and changes to your work are agreed upon by both you and ExpertCareerGuide.com before they’re made.

Q: What if I want to update or remove my work later?
A: You have full control over your published work. Updates go through a standard review before they’re published, the same as your original submission.

Q: Is this the same as the Campus Partner Program?
A: No. The Campus Partner Program is about promoting resources and earning a referral commission. This page is about the rights of the people who create the resources themselves.
